CIRCOR in Action: Turning a Pump Repair into a Complete System Upgrade
When 3M’s Greenville, South Carolina, facility needed support for an aging HXD pump that had become expensive to maintain, the initial request focused on repairing or replacing the existing pump. However, CIRCOR channel partner EW Process recognized an opportunity to provide a more effective long-term solution.
Working closely with the customer, the team expanded the project from a bareshaft pump request into a complete system modernization featuring a Zenith PEP 500cc pump. The new system provides an updated, easier-to-maintain pump design in a smaller, more ergonomic configuration.
With its lower center of gravity and compact footprint, the new unit can be moved easily by forklift for maintenance. This successful collaboration transformed a routine repair request into a complete system order that will improve serviceability and simplify operation for the customer.
