Circor MEA - Technical Seminar & field trip in support of twin-screw SGI
In collaboration with our local partner Kanoo Energy UAE, our Circor MEA team recently hosted a highly informative technical seminar focusing on screw pump technology for bulk liquid storage and oil terminals. This event, held in the bustling market of Fujairah, UAE, was a meeting point for industry professionals and end users who had the opportunity to explore and discuss the latest developments and breakthroughs in Houttuin twin screw pumps.
The heart of the seminar was the discussions between the nearly 60 participants from end users, consultants and EPC's, including VTTI, Fujairah Oil Terminal & Enerflex. On the CIRCOR side, Simon Pistilli presented together with Axel Jäschke and Hiren Mistry & Nikita Lyer from Allweiler India attended as representatives of the manufacturing plant.
Spotlight on Twin-Screw Pump Technology
The seminar focused on developments in Houttuin's twin screw pump technology, including the recently launched Energy Recovery Control Valve (ERCV) concept. This innovation promises to revolutionize efficiency and performance in the field of bulk liquid storage and oil terminals. The ERCV combines advanced variable speed drive technology, control logic and a screw pump configured as a twin screw motor. With this innovation, twin-screw technology can convert excess hydraulic energy into mechanical or electrical energy, saving millions of tons of CO2. Attendees were privileged to explore the features of this technology and gain insight into its potential applications and benefits.
You haven't heard about the ERCV from Houttuin yet or you would like more information?

Journey into Practicality: The Field Trip
A week before the seminar, a field trip was organized to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The focus was on two important thermal power plants: Layla Power Plant in Riyadh and Jeddah South Thermal Power Plant in Jeddah. These sites provided an invaluable opportunity to see Circor's twin screw pump technology in action. Technical training was conducted along with a site inspection at Jeddah South for potential replacement of "bad actor" competitor pumps where the customer is considering using Circor screw pumps for their heavy fuel transfer application. |
