Allweiler – The Obvious Choice for Dry Sludge in Sweden
A success story by Torell Pump AB
Skellefteå operates 15 municipal wastewater treatment plants, including Tuvan, located 5 km southeast of the city center along the Skellefte River. Tuvan can process up to 1,400 cubic meters of wastewater per hour, ensuring the plant can handle the municipality’s projected increase in wastewater volumes, as population growth is expected by 2030.

The Tuvan wastewater plant has now installed two new dry sludge pumps supplied by Torell Pump. These are the first examples of Allweiler's large progressing cavity pump for dry sludge in Sweden, upgrading service-friendliness, making maintenance faster and more efficient.
For Skellefteå, the choice was clear to only use the Allweiler brand as they only use Allweiler Pumps. This statement reflects the trust in Allweiler’s proven reliability, quality, and longevity -essential in wastewater applications where uptime and efficiency are critical.

A key highlight of the dry sludge pumps is the use of ALLDUR® material in the stator, which can extend its lifespan by 500 % or more. For operators, this means less maintenance, reduced downtime, and a significant increase in operational efficiency.
By combining innovative materials, robust design, and easy maintenance, these new pumps provide Tuvan with a durable, high-performance solution capable of meeting both current and future demands.
The Tuvan wastewater treatment plant demonstrates why Allweiler is the obvious choice for demanding sludge-handling applications. These pumps deliver reliable performance, long-term durability, and operational simplicity – just what operators need for sustainable wastewater management.
